Empowering Every Ability, Every Day
Goodwill Empowerment Works is a Medicaid waiver program that partners with participants' Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) providers to establish Service Contracts. Client fees are set according to Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) guidelines and the client’s Level of Need.
At Goodwill Dallas, we believe everyone deserves the chance to thrive. That’s why we offer, Empowerment Works, tailored support and inclusive programming for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs). Through a thoughtful combination of life skills training, hands-on learning, and community involvement, our team creates a path that reflects each individual’s unique goals and strengths. Whether you're exploring new interests or building toward greater independence, our programs evolve with you because every journey deserves personalized care and purpose.
How the Program Works
Our Adult Day Services program is designed to meet people where they are, recognizing that every individual has their own path to growth, independence, and fulfillment. Through a combination of vocational training, lifelong learning, and community engagement, we offer a well-rounded experience that supports both personal development and practical skills.

Experiences are structured to build workplace readiness, improve communication, and empower individuals to excel in employment settings—whether it’s in a supported role or building toward independent work.
Lifelong
Learning
Growth never stops and neither do we.
-
Our classroom-based curriculum is built around each participant’s passions and goals, from basic life skills to more advanced topics like financial literacy or digital tools.
-
Activities are engaging, interactive, and designed to spark curiosity while building self-esteem and independence.
Community Engagement
Life happens beyond the classroom and we’re there for that, too.
-
Participants enjoy opportunities to connect with their community through volunteering, group outings, and real-world experiences.
