Job Services and Placement Programs

Goodwill retail stores and Job Connection Centers are closed in accordance with the Dallas County shelter-in-place order, until further notice. Goodwill donation sites will remain open from 9:00am-6:00pm daily. Virtual services for employment assistance and other local resources are available Monday-Friday from 9:30am to 4:00pm and can be accessed by emailing Goodwill at jobs@goodwilldallas.org.

If you are a Goodwill employee and need to know how Goodwill is responding to COVID-19, please send an email to covid19@goodwilldallas.org for the most updated information.

How to access virtual services: email Goodwill at jobs@goodwilldallas.org with your name, city/zip code, contact number and any additional information. A Goodwill Job Connection Center Manager or Specialist will contact you directly and set up an appointment for virtual employment services.

Provides individuals with little or no work experience an environment to learn the soft skills of a job. Individuals learn how to interact with coworkers and supervisors as well as what it means to be a successful employee.

Individuals learn to navigate the social aspects of a work environment. They learn concepts such as how to cope with criticism, conflict resolution, and problem-solving using a curriculum developed by Goodwill Industries International.

A job skills trainer coaches a client to be successful in an interview. Participants attend mock interviews that are taped and the team reviews how the client can improve their presentation skills and body language.

A job coach trains a new employee on their job duties using job aids. The job coach assists the client for a full shift during the first two weeks of employment and the job coaching assistance fades as the client becomes engaged and capable of handling their job assignments.

Clients work with the placement staff to identify jobs that suit their employment goals. Our staff coaches the client and interacts with the employer to provide retention services.
